I haven't worked with the Bally AS-2518-35, but my understanding is that it adds A14, meaning more address space for ROMs. I think that it should be trivial to update this hack to deal with that, but I haven't studied the situation.

I also haven't worked with a machine that has a legitimate sound board. The two machines I'm working with just use chime boxes. If/when I get one of those machines, I'll try to add capability for sound.
